Kim Nelson is an organic grower, artist, and recent newcomer to the Leavenworth area. She started her career as a graphic designer creating educational books and games for children. The influence of her upbringing, full of homemade food, plants, and love of nature, kept pulling her outside. So she left the city life to follow her passion for local, sustainable food systems, and started and operated an organic farm on the coast, selling produce to bay area markets, restaurants, and stores. Some of the most challenging and best years of her life! Adventure called and she headed north to Leavenworth to design a climbing book. This visit fueled her love of the mountains and she moved here to work in a local garden. Shortly after she fell in love with the town, and her new found partner, who together in 2018 started Overwinter Farm. She looks forward to setting her roots, contributing to the vibrant, local market, and being apart of this great community.
