Cali, originally from Austin, Texas moved to Washington in 2013 to get a Bachelors of Arts in Public Health from the University of Washington in Seattle. Throughout her undergraduate years she spent summers in Leavenworth guiding whitewater rafting trips on the Wenatchee and cultivating a love of the mountains, rivers, and adventures that the region provides. After graduating in 2017, there was no question where to go next – back to Leavenworth!
Through her studies, Cali developed a passion for social determinants of health, equitable health access and education, and health policy – and she loves getting the chance to discuss local health and social concerns with community members! As a recent transplant to Leavenworth, she has been excited to spend the last year getting to know locals and learning about the community’s resources, challenges and needs through her work with Upper Valley MEND’s Community Harvest program.
In her free time you’ll find Cali doing a whole host of mountain and river sports, enjoying evenings around campfires, or sipping a local brew to some live music.
