Showing the Love! 2017 Sponsors

It has been a great winter for snowfall and a cold, wet spring. The hills are lush, green and flowers are beginning to polka-dot the landscape with long awaited brilliant colors. Things are growing at the Farmers Market too! With an all-star Board of Directors, a new Market Manager and an incredible showing of support through sponsorship from our local community and businesses, it is going to be a great season.

The biggest thank you goes to Tumwater Drilling and and Pump Inc. as our Title Sponsor this year. The Title Sponsor is critical to help us grow as a community non-profit by supporting our outreach and marketing, providing more access to ALL community members through SNAP, WIC, senior and Veggie Vouchers and increasing our ability to reach out to a diversity of vendors, entertainers and non-profits. Tumwater Drilling has been providing the highest standard of Washington well drilling services to Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, and Grant Counties since 1974. Tumwater Drilling and the Ballew Family are an integral business to the success of our community. This sponsorship is in special honor to the late Cherie Ballew who's big heart and hard work made immense positive impacts on the community and will continue to do so. Thank you Tumwater Drilling!

One of the goals of the 2017 market is to provide more family and kids booths and events. SOUTH has helped make this possible by sponsoring our third annual monthly Kids Makers Markets. SOUTH not only provides Leavenworth and Wenatchee with some tasty foods, but huge advocates and supporters of buying local veggies and ingredients. Their sponsorship of the Kids Makers Market offers local youth monthly opportunities to showcase their homemade, homegrown goodies on June 29th, July 20th and August 17th. These markets are a great way for youth to learn entrepreneurial skills, earn a little money for the piggy bank and help us cultivate a community that supports our young people in developing their creative skills, green thumbs and life skills. Thank you SOUTH!

Want to help support getting more youth and family activities to the market? We are still seeking an Education Booth Sponsor for the year! For more information or to sponsor, click HERE.

Besides great youth activities, one of the best things about our market is the musical performances each week. This year, we are so grateful to The LOFT for being out music sponsor! The LOFT is known for their good eats, drinks and being the place to go for great live entertainment. Their sponsorship is allowing us to provide our market musicians a stipend, purchase high quality sound equipment for events and ensure having great music each week. Thank you to The Loft!

Leavenworth is blessed to have such a strong commercial business presence that supports the local community. The market is an important gathering place and intersection for where the community and the commercial meet. This would not be possible without the sponsors from local businesses. We want to give big thank yous to the Sleeping Lady Resort for being a "Market Martyr" this year, Icicle Brewing Co. for being "Tomato Trustee" and the Munchen Haus for hosting Benevolent Beer Night on June 12th! Sandy's Waffle Haus and Alpine Coffee Roasters as a "Locavore Lover." A big high five to all the "Veggie Volunteers" so far: Dan's Food Market, Mountain Home Lodge, and the Old Post Office Saloon. We are incredibly grateful for this amazing support from our business community and are excited to create an amazing market experience this 2017 season!

Special thanks to the Watershed Cafe for supporting the Market once a month at their amazing Monday Local's Night, along with Boudreaux Cellars and both of their generous participation at our Annual Farm to Table dinner coming on August 30th at Roots Produce and Flower Farm, mark your calendars!

It takes a lot to get the market going each season and to keep it running. We are so grateful for the incredible support from: Gibbs Graphics for making our stuff look awesome, KLM Design Co. for graphic design, and Rootstone Creative for a beautiful space for beautiful minds to meet. You all are amazing!

So Hot Right Now... Composting and Recycling at the Market!

This year the LCFM will be offering both RECYCLING and COMPOSTING bins to make our market a zero waste market.  The market is growing this year, and with that we are making a clean scene at the Lion's Club Park!  So much trash is too good to waste, so why should we!?  Make sure you check out our new compost and recycling bins this Thursday at the FIRST market, June 8th, 4:00pm-8:00pm.  See you there!

Market Freshies - Goat Cheese Galore!

This year Sunny Pine Farm will be bringing their Goat cheese, Goat feta and Goat yogurt to the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market and we can't wait!  Sunny Pine farm, located in Twisp, WA,  try to source their products' ingredients and feed as locally and organic as much as possible.  They never use chemicals or antibiotics on their animals, who enjoy free ranging pastures and fresh open air. Owners Carl Rapp and his wife Tania Gonzalez Ortega take pride in the high quality of their products, the health of their ever-growing herd and the customer satisfaction their cheeses and yogurts bring.

Their products at the market this year will include: organic goat chevre in plain, honey/lavender, black pepper/garlic, parsley/chive and garlic/basil flavors, organic goat feta and organic goat yogurt. Make sure you check them out every week at the market and get your cheese fix!

Remember, first market is THURSDAY June 8th from 4:00pm-8:00pm!

Market Freshies - Eggs, Pork, Lamb and Beef Oh My!

The LCFM is thrilled to have Green Bow Farm attending our market this year!  Green Bow Farm is a 20 acre farm in Ellensburg WA that uses multi-species rotational grazing to produce nutrient dense eggs and grass-fed meats.  They move chickens, turkeys, sheep and cattle around on their pastures in a way that promotes the health of the soil and in turn the health of the animals.  They never use chemicals and their animals never have been given hormones or antibiotics.

This year they will be providing pastured raised eggs, beef, pork and lamb at the Leavenworth Market.

On top of the nutrient dense eggs and meat, they'll be brining home-made soaps and hand salves made from their grass fed tallows, along with yarn, lambskin and wool dryer balls.

Green Bow will be at the LCFM every other market, beginning June 8th.  Make sure you come out and show your support!

Returning Farmers to the LCFM

The LCFM is excited for our first market, Thursday June 8th and to introduce a host of new farmers, prepared food chefs and artisans to the market.  Yet before we do that, we want to thank those farmers returning to sell with us.  They are not only our farmers, but they are our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers and our cooking buddies.

We look forward to seeing them each week, letting them know how our cherry pie turned out with their fresh cherries and fresh ground flour, the arugula that was bursting with fresh spice in our daily salads, and the carrots that had to be sweeter than last years.  Thank you farmers for all the work you do!

See you at the market!

Kids Maker Market Days!

This year the LCFM will be hosting not one but THREE Kids Maker Market Days!  Last year's success and positive feedback inspired the market to provide Leavenworth's youth with more opportunities to create, construct and then sell their skilled creations.  This event teaches invaluable skills regarding entrepreneurship, deadlines, handling money, business experience, community involvement and more.  This year the Kids Maker Market Days will be held:

                                           June 23rd            July 21st         August 18th

If interested, please fill out our online application form here.

Make sure you understand the rules and general information regarding the event. Email questions to market manager Jenny Bourgeois at

Happy Making!

Give a little, Help a lot

Most farmers markets across the country are non-profits, functioning by the generosity of those that appreciate its services and believe in its role in the community.  The Leavenworth Community Farmers Market's mission is to:

Increase access to fresh, locally produced foods and other products of local labor for all people. We strive to serve culturally and economically diverse populations, and bring together families, neighbors, visitors and local food producers to create community and social gathering; to enhance our quality of life and foster a sustainable local economy.

If you believe in our mission and feel that the LCFM improves your quality of life and has a positive impact on the Leavenworth Community, become a Friend of the Market and help us expand our programs, events and support for local agriculture and quality crafts.

Help us seed life into our future!

waterSHEDDING the LOVE to the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market

When the Watershed Cafe opened eight months ago,  the small restaurant changed our little Bavarian-themed hamlet forever.  This farm-to-table restaurant sets a new standard in Leavenworth for quality food, commitment to local farmers, and fresh seasonal offerings, and supporting community.  Their dedication to these principles advocates for more sustainable food production and improved environmental stewardship.  All the while they are creating delicious, inventive, and flavorful dishes that change weekly. In addition to these wonderful aspects, the owners of the Watershed Cafe dedicate every Thursday evening as Local's Night.  Everything on the menu is below $20, and even more impressive, they donate 5% of the profits from Local's Night to a local non-profit organization.  The Leavenworth Community Farmers Market is the grateful recipient every 2nd Thursday of the month.

This coming year the LCFM is striving to attract more farmers and producers to our community. We hope this will have positive impacts for our local partners such as the Watershed Cafe, bringing more fresh local food, and expand the access to both consumers, and restaurants. Thank you again Watershed Cafe for this amazing opportunity and we hope to see you all April 14th.
